coolest shopping bus in Dallas

On our weekend get-a-way to Dallas to we came across this ingenius vintage green school bus shop called The Vintagemobile. Awesome right?! Everything is vintage 1950s to 1980s. They have dresses, t-shirts and sunglasses. Plus there is a dressing room too. I'm not easily impressed but this idea knocks it out of the park. So refreshing to see something so unique in today's modern world.

Unfortunately, we didn't find anything in our sizes that we liked (Mike's too big, I'm too petite). But the owner is a really nice guy who went out of his way to recommend some steak houses (more on that later). Next time we make it to Texas, we'll definitely try to shop on the bus again!

We found a great deal online for two tickets round trip to Dallas for under $200.00 total.
We booked it and enjoyed a weekend get-a-way, in a city neither of us had been to before.
Somewhat like my rambom in New York post. These are a couple of sights we found
while we walked and walked around.

Yup, rat trap

I love the city that never sleeps. Even if Mike and I were back at the hotel room by 12am. We walked, walked and walked around.  I was able to take a couple of pics while it wasn't raining. I realized there are a few things that I find to be random. To me they stuck out like a sore thumb even in New York.

Umm... in case you missed it in grade school. Please remember to look both ways. 

      

 Bumper Bully? This is understandable until I noticed the front of the cars don't have them. The back is protected but not the front. Awesome!

proper preparation prevents poor performance

We're going to a wedding in jersey and making a stop in nyc. super duper excited about the nyc part. We are leaving this thursday. Since we booked the hotel we've been talking about places we wanted to go and see. I knew this monday we would talk it over. However, when mike got home that evening he showed me  our itinerary. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. As you can see the man broke it down and even had post-it notes. Nothing wrong with that. I know the man I married. However, I had my list as well but just in one small scribbled post-it note. I know from traveling with him that proper preparation prevents poor performance and honestly it does maximizes our time in whatever city we are visiting. I just think it's funny. If things were left up to me we would walk aimlessly around the big apple and I would have to stop and assure him that the universe would provide whatever path we were meant to cross. Does anyone else travel this way?

(side note: he does not have "type A" tendencies, he assures me each time I point it out). 

travel bug

i was away on a small island called puerto rico. and the days before that i was busy making sure all my responsibilities would be taken care of when i was away. left on a friday and came back ready to do the 9 to 5 on monday morning.

i was able to experience the fact that i went there to face my fears with out knowing it. from traveling with new faces to the caving we were able to do. an adventure that is simply unforgettable. the best part for me was taking it all in and going with the flow.

if you ever find yourself out in puerto rico make sure you don't miss aventuras tierra adentro.

the caving included: rappelling, zip lane, mid siles, and body rafting. its also included in National Geographic's 500 of the world's greatest trips book.

ha. i told mike we should go on the next 499 trips the books recommends. he mentioned it would take 10 years and i said it was fine with me. somehow we got on the conversation of kids. and about when we think we should start trying. then he expressed to me that he was a little worried because when i got home, i left my suit case outside our apartment doors for about 3 hours until he came home and noticed. and that living in florida with a forgettable mind i could forget to leave one or two kids in a very hot car. i couldn't help but laugh, as we both looked at wellington. we thought, "hey we haven't killed him so far".
