/ aida's corn tomato & avocado salad

aidas corn tomato & avocado salad

I'll be making this one again for sure. It's more of a a summer salad for people who live up north. I didn't use the blender for the dressing, like the recipe calls for- I chopped everything by hand. I also added garlic power, which gave it a great taste. (we are garlic lovers). This is one of those recipe you can added or subtract from and there will be no mistakes. Makes for a great leftover lunch.

recipe / under twenty dollars & less than 30 minutes

I'm giving myself a challenge and I'm calling it under twenty dollars & less than 30 minutes. Inspired by last week's recipe. I hope to continue featuring one recipe per week. I'm looking forward to learning my way around the kitchen a little more.

/ sauteed shrimp with arugula & tomatoes. I found this recipe on the martha stewart site. It was good, not great. Maybe if you serve it over rice it would be better. There was just too much shrimp favor. I didn't even take the leftovers for lunch. However, Mike did and he added red pepper flakes and garlic powder. Oh we also added grated parmesan cheese.

/ tuna pasta puttanesca

Nothing satisfies my tummy more than yummy, cheap and fast dinners, at least when it's my turn to cook around here. I'm a pasta lover and adding tuna for a meatless dinner is ideal. This was my first time cooking with dry white wine. I think it added a great taste and the crushed red pepper flakes gave it that karate kick.
